Edward Meyer

I, Julia Rabe, married Edward W. Meyer from Okolona, Ohio, in 1935 and we had two children, Joyce in 1939 and Lavern in 1942. Joyce, Lavern, and I all graduated from Liberty Center High School.

Edward and I first lived on a farm east of Damascus bridge and from 1939 to 1946 we lived one mile south of Elery, Ohio. Then in 1946 we moved back to the same place along the river.

In January, 1960, we bought my parent's farm from my mother's estate, just west of Liberty Center. In 1969, when the state forced all tenants to move out of the north Turkeyfoot Park tract, Edward and I moved to our farm and in 1974 we built a new home there.

Our son, Lavern Meyer, married Mary Ann Shaffer of McClure, Ohio, in 1964 and he then joined the St. Paul Lutheran Church in McClure. They have two daughters, Kathy Sue in 1968 and Karen Lynn in 1973. In 1970 they bought an 80 acres farm northwest of McClure, Ohio, and they live there now.
