The parents of Dietrick Henry Meyer came to America in 1848 and settled near Okolona, Ohio, giving birth to Dietrich Henry Meyer in 1849.

He married Kathryn Helmke in 1874 and in 1881 bought a farm in Section 18 of Flatrock Township now known as the Winn farm. They lived there until 1924 and for many years he was known as "Thresher Meyer," before moving to Florida, Ohio, and dying in 1928.
He had three sons: Fred, George, and Otto, and daughter Ida, and a daughter, Minna, who died in infancy. Mrs. Meyer was born in Stellichte, Germany, in 1853 and came to America when she was 20 years old and settled in Napoleon Township near Okolona and died in 1931.
The Dietrick Henry Meyers were the grandparents of Ida Marie Baden Weddelman born in 1906.
