Fredrick (1842-1926) was born in Hitzhasenzen, District of Hanover, and resided in Ormshort, Germany. He married Anna Maria Katharine Kulhman (1842-1912), of Osnabruk, Germany. To this union twelve children were born, seven in Germany.
The family arrived in America on May 14, 1884. They settled in Woodville, Ohio, where five more children were born. They are all deceased except Edward Luebker, now residing in Columbus, Ohio, at 88 years young.
Henry H. Luebker (1882-1966) was the last of the seven born in Germany, and was two years of age when the Fredrick Wilhelm Luebker Family came to America. Later the family followed relatives to Henry County, known to be the best farm land in the "Black Swamp." This was in 1906 and they settled on a farm two miles south of Napoleon on State Route No. 108, now known as the Spangler farm. From there the family bought a sixty (60) acre tract on Rural Route No. 3, County Road No. 14, three miles south of Napoleon. This farm later was purchased by Henry H. Luebker.
Henry was also a farmer, and a purebred Belgian horse breeder. He owned the famous Belgian stallion, Louis Demater, and had him standing at stud service for over fifteen (15) years.
Henry H. married Myrtle Bowerman (1888-1954) in the year of 1911. Two children were born to this union, Geraldine E. (1912) and Julian E. (Bud) (1919). Both were graduates of Napoleon High School. Geraldine married Edwin Seiple of Jewell, Ohio, in 1935, and have one daughter, Marilyn, born in 1936. Marilyn married Larry Elling of Holgate, in 1960, and both the Seiple's and the Elling's reside in the Napoleon area.
Julian E. (Bud) married the former M. Cleola Reimund, of Napoleon, in the year 1947. Julian also has followed in the family tradition of farming and has been involved in many civic activities, such as serving on the Henry County Fair Board for twenty-two (22) years, a Napoleon Township Trustee for over sixteen (16) years, a charter member, and a Trustee of the Henry County Historical Society.
Since Julian and Cleola's marriage,they have resided on the same farm, located on M-3, two miles south of Napoleon, which was purchased by them in 1964.
Their first of two children, Hal Henry, was born in 1948, and Sue Ann was to follow in 1952. Both attended Napoleon High School and are college students. Hal from Owens Tech in 1971, and Sue Ann from Bowling Green State University in 1973.
Hal and his wife, Brenda, married in 1974, and now reside on the Luebker Homestead on County Road No. 14, an asset of Julian Luebker's. In 1975, Hal joined his father in the farming operation, which includes over 800 acres of land, and a feed lot for 275 head of beef cattle.
Sue was married in 1975, to David Mohr of Willowick, 0., and now resides in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. Sue is the head librarian for Wickliffe High School.
