These Bible records were found in Carolina Leonhardt Sidlinger's German Bible and were written in German script. She married John Weible Sidlinger and lived for many years in Hutchinson, Kansas, where she moved from Ohio about three years after her marriage. Two of her sisters and one brother lived in Napoleon, Ohio. Her parents lived in Florida, Ohio, having emigrated from Germany when young adults.
Our father and Mother, Frederick Leonhardt, born October 30, 1830, and Catherine Ubel, born September 6, 1830, were married on March 26, 1852. Frederick died on November 30, 1890, and Catherine died on April 15, 1909.
Their children were Catherine Leonhardt, born September 20, 1853; Louisa Leonhardt, born September 6, 1855, died April, 1921; Frederick Leonhardt, born December 25, 1862; Carolina Leonhardt, born August 5, 1859; George Leonhardt, born December 22, 1862, and Maria Leonhardt was born on January 5, 1872. Frederick Leonhardt died on October 18, 1876 and reached the age of nineteen years, nine months, and twenty-eight days. "Peace to his ashes."
