Thornton Wallace Leonard was born on Nov. 4, 1922 in Wakefield, Ohio. (son of James and Anna (Cutlip) Leonard). He graduated from Malinta High School in 1943. Thornton served in World War II in the army from May 1943 to Jan. 1946. On Mar. 5, 1949 he married Marcile Aderman. Marcile was born on Jan. 30, 1923. (daughter of Walter and Bertha (Hartman) Aderman). She graduated from Malinta High School in 1941 and attended Purdue University.
Thornton and Marcile had three children. Wallace was born on Dec. 15, 1951. Randal was born on April 28, 1953. He married Patricia Petersen on Oct. 27, 1973. Patricia was born on Jan. 28, 1953. Their daughter Trina Rae was born on April 5, 1976. Linda was born on July 7, 1957. She married Richard Schimdt on May 7, 1977. Richard was born on Nov. 22, 1955. Their daughter Tanya Renee was born on Oct. 23, 1977.
Thornton Leonard built the house where he now lives, on the south edge of Malinta, Ohio on St. Rt. 109. He has been a carpenter most of his life and is now self-employed.
