Henry Leist married Mary, or Polly, Bartgis and came in 1853 from Pickaway County. They purchased three hundred acres of land and lived in Section 27 on the east bank of North Turkey Foot Creek. He kept his money in his felt boot. Henry and Polly had ten children. Caroline, Harriet, Ephriam, and Benjamin were buried in Pickaway County, Ohio. George, born 1838, died 1863, is buried at Liberty Chapel Cemetery. Other children were Cathryn, or Cass; Louisa; Alivia; Mary Ann; and a daughter who married a Mr. Woodward and had son, Clark Woodward.
Cathryn Leist married John A. Wright. They had eight children, Charles, Floyd, Denella, Mobi, Jennie, Welthea, Clio and Delila.
Charles Merlin Wright married Julia Rogers. Their child, Earl, married Dolly Sworden and had Phyllis who married Orville Brubaker and Doris Myrtle, or Mert, who married Andy Orme and had one child, Wilda who married Jack Glick. Charles and Julia's daughter, Neva, married Thomas Bichan and had Madeline, bonnie and Jean.
Floyd Madison Wright married Cora Bergstresser and their children were Leslie, Ruby, Gale, Audra, Juanita, and Robert.
Denella, or Nell, married Raleigh Sherman Leist and had no children.
Mobi Granville Wright, a doctor of medicine, practiced in the Liberty Center and Toledo area. He married Garnet Louise Howe and their children were Helen, a concert pianist, who married Edward M. Dormand, Jr., New York City; and Laon who married Gertrude Harrer and lived at Texas, Ohio.
Jennie Grace Wright married Chase Reed and lived in Toledo.
Welthea Leila Wright married Robert Cornelius and adopted one child, Jewell.
Clio Clendora died as a child.
Delila Maleva Wright married Milton L. Whiteman, son of John P. and Martha Petticord Whiteman. Their children were Josie, Atha, and Terry.
Josie Whiteman married Ira Sharpe, son of Matthew and Mahala Sharpe. Ira was the manager of the Fremont Kraut Company branch at Liberty Center. Later the family moved to Fremont, Ohio. Their children were Chalmers, a metallurgist, who worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. He married Mary Elliott. After retirement, Chalmers lived on Catawba Island, Port Clinton, Ohio. Chalmers and Mary had sons, John of Washington, D.C. and David of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Atha Whiteman married Elwood Howell, son of William and Alice Packham Howell. Alice's father owned the grist mill in Liberty Center where Will was the miller, and later operated the mill. The Packham family came from Canada. Elwood served during World War I as a 1st Lieutenant. From 1942 until 1945, he attended Cedarville College and Ohio State University. Elwood and family lived in Defiance, Ohio, working with the Defiance Gas and Electric Company. Elwood and Atha had John, died in infancy, Alice and Eldridge.
Alice Howell never married. She is a graduate of Defiance High School and the School of Nursing, Toledo Hospital. She enlisted in the Nurse Corp, U.S. Army and served as a 1st Lieutenant with three years service overseas. She was a nurse at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Ohio, and Toledo Hospital in the maternity department and was supervisor of the maternity department in 1952. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Western Reserve University in 1955 and joined the Faculty of the School of Nursing, Toledo Hospital in 1961.
Eldridge Howell married Patricia Prosper. He attended Defiance College, enlisted in the U.S.Navy during World War II and served as an electrician's mate on a submarine chaser in the Pacific theatre. He graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, in mechanical engineering. He works for Babcock-Wilcox Company, Barberton, Ohio. Eldridge and Patricia had children, Elizabeth and Patricia.
Terry Howell married Cleol Warner of Napoleon, Ohio. They lived for some years on John A. Wright farm on the east bank of North Turkey Foot Creek. They later moved to Michigan where Terry. is employed by Wood Pulp Manufacturing Company. Their son, Aubry, is a tool and die precision machinist for Chrysler Company, Detroit, Michigan.
