Harry, son of Elmer and Anna (Barnard) Leatherman was born June 25, 1889, near Hoytville, Wood Co., Ohio. He, with his parents, sister Mary, and brother Demas, moved to Fulton Co., March 3, 1903, to a farm on the Henry-Fulton Co. line. He married Hazel McBride on Dec. 25, 1915, and they had three sons, Ray, Cloyce, and Wayne. Harry and Hazel lived with his parents until Mar. 17, 1916, when Elmer and Anna moved to Colton, Ohio, where Elmer pastored the Church of God. Harry and Hazel lived on at the home farm where they raised potatoes, strawberries, and other farm produce. The potatoes Harry delivered by team and wagon to many folks and relatives in Hoytville, Oh. In 1937 Harry and his family moved to a farm 1/2 mi. north of Texas, Ohio. Rainy, muddy weather made moving day by team and wagon even more difficult.
