Grant Lawrence Family

Dennis Grant Lawrence married Alice Marie Johnston on June 26, 1943.

They lived with Mrs. May Johnston on what five years later became a Henry County Centennial farm. While living there, their first child, Joan Marie Lawrence was born on August 2, 1947.

In 1950 they purchased their present farm home from Solomon and Jessie Biggins Ruse. This farm is one-fourth mile north of the farm on which Mrs. Lawrence was born and lived until she married. The Biggins farm had been in the Biggins family for nearly one hundred years.

Dennis Grant Lawrence was born January 5, 1953.

Joan M. Lawrence attended and graduated from the Grand Rapids High School in 1965. She attended Findlay College and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1968. She received her Master's of Education Degree from Bowling Green State University in 1975, and is presently teaching Title I Reading in the Swanton Public School System.

Dennis G. Lawrence, Jr. attended Grand Rapids Elementary School which was consolidated into the Otsego Schools in 1966. He graduated from Otsego High School in 1971. Dennis is presently employed by the General Telephone Company and is living at home.

D. Grant Lawrence, Sr. worked in Toledo for the Doehler-Jarvis Division of National Lead Industries for 32 years retiring in 1975.
