John Klingelhofer was born in Germany in 1836. He came to Baltimore, Maryland in 1850 and learned the baker's trade.
He married Mary Atwater in 1859 and they had six children.
They arrived in Flatrock Township in 1882 and purchased the Florida Custom Flour Mill that had been built in 1862. The first mill on the mill site had been built in 1842.

Henry McHenry
Henry McHenry was born in 1822 in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, and came to Henry County in 1851. He was the son of Uriah and Charlotte McHenry.
Henry married and had three children: William V., Harriet, and Fannie.
He was a doctor and surgeon and served during the Civil War as surgeon with the 125th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
After the war he served as agent to the Freedman's Bureau at Rockville, South Carolina.
