Isaac Karsner, born on February 10, 1821, in Virginia, possibly Harrison County, West Virginia, died on November 1, 1891, at Florida, Ohio, and is buried in the cemetery there. He was a son of Addam Emmanuel Karshner, a Dutch Hollander. Isaac was a merchant, millwright, and had studied medicine.
He married Sarah Ann Barnhart Bowen, widow of Isaac Bowen, on April 4, 1849, in Henry County, Ohio. Isaac Bowen died in 1844 at Florida and is buried there. Sarah Ann was born on May 13, 1821, in Maryland. She died in 1856 at Florida and is buried there. They had two children.
Adam Emanuel Karsner was born on January 22, 1852, at Florida, Ohio, and he died on December 1, 1919, in St. Mary's Hospital, Winfield, Kansas. Adam was a medical doctor and did his surgery at St. Mary's Hospital. He lived at Newkirk, Oklahoma. Adam married Louisa Jane Crozier on October 14, 1873. She was born on May 24, 1857, at Defiance, Ohio, and died on September 2, 1907, Newkirk, Oklahoma. She is buried in Mt. Mora Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri..
Adam and Louisa Karsner had two daughters, Gayetta and Cora May.
Gayetta, the mother of Mildred G. Hanna, was born on January 1, 1875, at Florida, Ohio. She died on December 14, 1961, at Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is buried in the Mt. Mora Cemetery. Gayetta married Kinglsey Taylor Green of St. Joseph, Missouri, on September 22, 1894, in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on November 6, 1870, at Lanesville, Indiana. He died on March 19, 1927, at Camden Point, Missouri, and is buried in the Mt. Mora Cemetery.
Cora May Karsner was born on February 21, 1879, at Florida, Ohio. She died on December 26, 1907, at Otto, New Mexico, near Moriarity, New Mexico, and is buried in Mt. Mora Cemetery. She was a registered nurse, and a Methodist Deaconess. She died with tuberculosis.
The second child of Isaac was Helen, called Nellie. She was born on November 4, 1856, at Florida, Ohio. She died in '1935 at Florida and is buried in the Cole cemetery there. She was married on March 15, 1874, to Benjamin Champion, who was born in 1850 and died in 1888. Helen married, as her second husband, William N. Brubaker, who was born in 1846, and died in 1921. Helen had no issue from either marriage.
Isaac Karsner married as his second wife, Catharine Kemmer. She was born. in Membechel, Prussia, Germany, on November 24, 1827. She came to Tuscarawas County, Ohio, in 1851, and came to Henry County in 1853 and remained in that county the rest of her life. Catharine had a brother, Peter Kemmer of Florida, Ohio, and a sister, Eliza Kemmer Ludwig of Port Washington, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Peter Kemmer and William Kemmer lived in Flroida, Ohio between the years of 1877 and 1887. Catharine died on June 8, 1912, at Florida, Ohio, and is buried there.
Isaac and Catharine Karsner had three children.
Florette, or Flora, was born on June 20, 1859, and died on August 23, 1948. She married William H. Andrew who was born in 1857, and died on January 5, 1924, at Florida, Ohio. Both are buried at Florida. See the Andrew history in this book.
Clara, or Sarah Clarissa, was born on September 24, 1860, and died in 1934. She married Charles Henry Gunn on September 24, 1882. Charles died in 1913, and is buried at Florida, Ohio. They had two daughters, Flora and Mable Gunn. Mable was born on March 22, 1885, and married Logan Bru baker.
William F. Karsner married Annabelle Brotherly on November 10, 7889. William was born on April 28, 1867, at Florida, Ohio, and died on June 22, 1935, and is buried at Florida, Ohio. Annabelle was born on September 20, 1867, and died on March 31, 1942, at Florida, and is buried there. They had three children.
George Isaac Karsner was born on August 12, 1890, and died on October 15, 1926 and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, Ohio. He married Zella Lindhart on February 12, 1912. Zella was born on January 31, 1892, and married a second time in February, 1929.
Gladys Mae Karsner was born on March 23, 1892, and married Earl D. Stevens who was born on March 21, 1893, and died on October 27, 1933. Gladys lived in Defiance until December, 1977. She now lives with the George E. Wiesenmayer family of Toledo, Ohio.
Helen Kathryn Karsner was born on January 5, 1901, and married George E. Wiesenmayer in September of 1924. They live at 2048 South Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.
Descendants of Emanuel Karsner, Sr. named for him were Herman Emanuel Cook, Adam Emanuel Karsner, and Henry Emanuel Shelton.

John Karsner was born in the state of Virginia on September 16, 1823, and died on February 20, 1897, and is buried at Florida, Ohio. He married Rachel Durham in 1851 at Florida.
