D.J. Humphrey descended from William the Fourth of Holland. The name changed from Bromver, to Drake, to Humphry because of the decease of male branches of the House.
D.J. was born in Erie County in 1834 to Hiram and Lavinia H. Humphrey, and married in Fulton County to Sarah Fairbanks, who was born in 1834.
Their issue were Mary E., 1865 and Lila, 1861 to 1866.
D.J. Humphrey came to Henry County in 1859 and opened a drugstore that was still in business in 1875.
Submitted by the Henry County Historical Society, and not by the family.
