Vida M. (Rettig) Huber was the daughter of Ernest B. and Idella (Knipp) Rettig born July 26, 1914, in Flatrock Township, Henry County, Ohio. She died on September 24, 1965, age 51. Vida graduated from Holgate High School. She married Clarence J. Huber, son of John and Maria (Boesling) Huber in 1939. They both lived in Henry County all their lives and attended St. John's United Church of Christ, E. and R., Holgate, Ohio. Clarence was a farmer and is now retired. They gave birth to three children: Charles E. Huber —January 3, 1943, Vandella M. Huber — February 23, 1944, and Marvin L. Huber — May 16, 1948.
Charles E. Huber was born January 3, 1943, in Henry County, Ohio. He graduated from Holgate High School and Bowling Green State University. Charles married Marjorie E. Moore August 11, 1962, and now resides in Defiance, Ohio. He is presently an associate of Steyer, Huber & Associates, Inc., Certified Public Accountants, Defiance, Ohio. They have two children: Angela M. Huber — November 2, 1965, and Jennifer J. Huber — November 25, 1968.
Vandella M. Huber was born February 23, 1944, in Henry County, Ohio. She graduated from Holgate High School and Stautzenberger Business College, Toledo, Ohio. She presently resides at home. Vandella worked at Frost Insurance Agency for ten years. Then she secured employment at Steyer, Huber & Associates, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, as a secretary and computer operator.
Marvin L. Huber was born May 16, 1948, in Henry County, Ohio. He graduated from Holgate High School. Marvin served in the U.S. Navy for four years. While in the U.S. Navy, he received his training at Great Lakes, Chicago, Illinois. He served in Alaska, and made a voyage around the world aboard the U.S.S. Shangri La, which made stops in the Phillipines, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Rio DeJanerio. He also put nine months in the Tonkon Gulf off of Vietnam. After arriving back in the United States, he helped decommission the Shangri La and was then discharged from active duty June 10, 1971. Then Marvin attended Four County Technical School (Northwest Tech) for one year, and Bowling Green State University for two years, which brought him to his present occupation of farming and residing on his father's farm.
