Carl Huber married, and lost his first wife in Germany. Some years he emigrated to America from Kaiserslautern, Moschbock, Bavaria, Germany, in 1853. Coming with him were his son, Charles Huber, and his daughter, Anna Maria Huber Rausch and her husband, Herman Rausch, and their four children that had been born in Germany.
Carl was noted for his remarkable strength. He was an excellent rail split- ter and cut thousands of the rails that were used in Henry County for fencing many farms of those early days. Even though he worked hard and put forth strenuous exertion, as an early pioneer of Henry County, he attained the age of ninety four years and died at the home of his son, Charles Huber.
Charles Huber lived in Henry County, near Holgate, Ohio. He married twice. He was the father of sixteen children, including twins. He was the father of Lena Huber from his second marriage. Lena Huber married Thomas Wiles and their children were Carl, Charles, and Wilson Wiles. Lean, by a second marriage to John Smith, had a daughter, Dora Smith Miller.
