Nathaniel Hoy, b. 9-14-1843, married Zelda Ann Williamson, b. 2-81843, and moved to Henry County from Fairfield County in the early 1880's. On Feb. 6, 1883, Nathaniel Hoy bought the 80 acres in Harrison Township in the south half of the SW Quarter of Section 23. Their family was Alenzo Wesley Hoy, b. 11-4-1869, who married Luella B. Sheets, b. 8-15-1867; Emaline F. Hoy, b. 3-19-1871, married Charles J. Hartman b. 4-6-1869; Louanna H. Hoy, b. 6-26-1872, married Dale Owen Stevens, b. 3-26-1866; George Jacob Hoy, b. 9-3-1874, married Grace Snyder, b. 2-6-1879; Walton Eugene Hoy, b. 8-9-1877, married Ada Rebecca Leininger, b. 3-19-1882; Ina Roberta Hoy, b. 3-1-1887, married Rock E. Kerman, b. 9-15-1888.
Nathaniel Hoy died on Feb. 7, 1902, and the following year the farm was sold, the family having disbursed, the Charles Hartmans' and the W. E. Hoy family having moved to Napoleon, the latter to the east side of Vine Street.

Walton E. Hoy attended Ohio Northern University at Ada and later taught at Randall Hill School in Harrison Township which serviced Sections 13, 14, 23, and 24. He also acted as superintendent of the Sharon Church Sunday School in 1900 and helped raise funds for the church bell. After moving to Napoleon in 1902, W. E. Hoy worked in a shoe store and bought his own location at 617-19 N. Perry Street in 1919. His home at 440 Welsted Street, Napoleon, was built in 1914 by Fred Tuttle for $5,000.
Prior to World I the Alenzo (Lent) Hoys and the George (Jake) Hoys moved to Montpelier, Indiana, while the Louanna Hoy Stevens' and Ina and Rock Kerman moved to Cleveland.
Walton E. and Ada Hoy had three children: Paul Eugene, b. 1906; Walter L. b. 1909; and Roberta Louise, b. 1912. In addition to running his business, W. E. Hoy was a member of the Napoleon City Council and Secretary of the Board of Education.

Paul Hoy married Bernadine Edwards and their son James lives in Napoleon and works at BGSU in Bowling Green, while their daughters Marcia and Janice are married and live in San Diego, Calif., as does Paul's widow, Bernadine. He died in 1959.

Walter L. graduated from Oberlin College in 1931 and from Princeton University (M.A.) in 1932. He married Genevieve Kellogg (B.A., BGSU) in 1943 and their three boys John Walter and Thomas Nathaniel are students at Ohio State while Timothy James is at Oberlin and in summer (1975) school at Yale. Genevieve taught typing and shorthand at Napoleon High School in 1939-43 while Walter L. was with The Community Bank from 1935 to 1974 with four years out with Uncle Sam in World War II. Since February, 1974, he is serving Henry County as Clerk of the Common Pleas Court.
Roberta Louise Hoy married Ronald Upp and their children are Ronald Lee Upp (dec'd '66), Richard, and Louise, who is married to Dennis Baden, Hamler, Ohio. Roberta Hoy Upp died in 1949 and Ronald was killed in 1959.
