In December of 1967 we, Jim and Arlene Hershberger moved to our present address at 929 Haley Ave., Napoleon, Ohio, the old Henry Rohrs family residence, formerly occupied by Tony Rohrs, Spot Rohrs, and the Eldor Franz family.
We were married on September 18, 1955, and have three children: Michael, born March 21, 1957. He attended Napoleon schools and graduated from there in 1975. Terry, born Oct. 4, 1959, attended Napoleon schools and graduated from there in 1978, and will be attending the University of Toledo this fall; Cheryl, born Oct. 18, 1966, is in the sixth
grade at Central Middle School (1978-79).
Jim was born June 3, 1933, in the Malinta area to Albert and Hazel (Dietrich) Hershberger. He worked at Howard's Friendly Service, Napoleon, starting at age 14 - and full time until June, 1976, and is presently working at Campbell Soup Co. in the mainteance department. He has two brothers, Robert, of Napoleon, and Jerry of
RR #3, Napoleon. Also, Howard Overhulse of Napoleon and Erma Ludeman, RR #5, Napoleon, are his half- brother and half-sister. He has also been a member of the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Dept. for the past 19 years. His education started at Malinta school and he graduated from Napoleon High School in 1951.
I was born at Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, on January 6, 1933, the daughter of Harold and Nettie (Schweinhagen) Rohrs. I am a housewife and for the past six and one-half years have worked part time in the Title Dept. in the Clerk of Courts Office in the courthouse. I have one sister, Margaret Wachtmann, living in Napoleon, Ohio.
I attended the one room school house known as Veigel School on Road 16. Misses Lucille and Margaret Sherman were teachers there. It is no longer there. When that school closed we went to Napoleon schools and I graduated from there in 1950.
We have always attended Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and are still members there.
