Roger L. Heiberg, son of Eldor and Ruth (Hogrefe) Heiberg was born May 20, 1938, in Napoleon, Ohio. Roger attended Napoleon grade and high school graduating in 1956.
Roger helped with the farming and steers, hogs, and broilers while his father worked part time for local carpenters and later as a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker.
Roger was active in 4-H, Farm Bureau youth groups and still calls square dances with local bands. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking and furniture making.
After graduating and 6 years in the Army Reserves, Roger worked as a mechanic and machinist in the Napoleon area.
After their father's death May 31, 1972, Roger and his brother Larry farmed the home farm.
Roger married Mary Alice Wade born July 24, 1940, daughter of George B. and Gladys M. (Aumend) Wade of Delta, Ohio, on July 10, 1965. Roger and Mary Alice have two children, Michael Allan, born August 20, 1970, and Michelle Lee, born August 17, 1972.
Roger and Mary Alice purchased their first home on Hobson Street in 1967.
They built their own home on the home farm in 1973 and moved into it in May, 1974. The home is located on one acre of land located on Road P 1 that overlooks a pond that was used by the neighborhood to make ice in the late 1800's.
The pond is enjoyed by the Heiberg family now for fishing and swimming.
