John Hartman Family

John Hartman was born on December 3, 1790, in Maryland. He was a son of Samuel and Mary Vinton Hartman.

John married Anna Mariah Barnes on March 7, 1816. She was born on December 18, 1794, in Maryland. John and Anna were early settlers in Henry County, Ohio, coming in 1859.

John died on August 18, 1869/70, at Napoleon, and Anna died on September 23, 1868/69, and both are buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, Ohio.

John and Anna Hartman had twelve children. The names of those known are Catherine, John, Ellen, Daniel, Mary Haynthia, Margaret Ann, Adam, Joseph C., and Susan Amanda.

Catherine was born on April 3, 1815, in Maryland, and married a man whose last name was Eninger. She died on August 22, 1900, and is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery.

A child was born between Catherine and John. It was born on September 14, between the years of 1815 and 1818, when John Hartman was born to John and Anna. John was born on March 31, 1818. A child was born on December 17, 1820, but name and sex not known.

Ellen was born on February 22, 1822. Daniel was born on January 21, 1824. Mary Haynthia was born in 1826, and Margaret Ann was born on July 13, 1829. It is thought a child was born in 1831, and Adam was born on January 11, 1832. Adam married Sarah Smith on July 3, 1859. Joseph C. was born on March 3, between Adam and Susan Amanda who was born on September 5, 1838. Joseph married Sarah Wilson on September 27, 1859. Susan Amanda was the youngest child of John and Anna Hartman. She married John Yocum on December 4, 1859. Her history is found under the John Yocum family in this book.
