Samuel Haag
Samuel Haag was born in 1841 in Pennsylvania, a son of Peter and Catharine Haag and was the youngest of their seven children.
Samuel learned the printer's trade in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
He enlisted in 1861 in Co. G., 51st Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
He spent the years from 1865 until 1871 at Texas, Henry County, Ohio and taught school there. He was postmaster at Texas, Ohio from 1866 until 1871.
He became superintendent of the county infirmary and served from 1871 until 1881.
He was appointed postmaster at Napoleon in 1885 to replace Leverett Randall and re-appointed in 1886 for a four year term.
He married Christina Limestall in 1864 and they had three children.
