Marian Suydam was born on March 19, 1921, in Napoleon, Ohio, and was a daughter of Clem F. and Laura Gilson Suydam. She served as a Wave in World War II. Marian is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Napoleon Women's Bowling Association. She has been a bookkeeper at the Wesche Funeral Home for the past twenty years. She was formerly married to Martin Gillette. Her sons are Stanley Charles, born on May 1, 1947; and Steven Richard, born May 2, 1950. Stan served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. He married Debra Kaley on December 4, 1876, and they reside at Wonder Lake, Illinois, and have a son, Jason Charles Gillette. Steven Gillette is a graduate of the University of Toledo and is a terminal manager at the General Highway Express Company, Sidney, Ohio. Steven married Mary Ellen Taylor, of Toledo, Ohio, on October 25, 1975. Mary is a graduate of Ohio University and is an elementary school teacher in the Liberty Center school system.
