Frederick Gehringer was born March 8, 1836, and died June 2, 1898; his wife, Pauline (Reppune) Gehringer was born March 18, 1838, and died September 19, 1904. They were both born in Weikersheim, Wurtenberg, Germany. They came to this country in 1865, and settled in Henry County about 1866. They had eight children:
Henry was born December 23, 1867, died May 28, 1944. He and his wife Mary had nine children: Edmund, Eulalia Patterson, Pauline Moeller, Antoinette Barnert, Rose Hellwey, Eleanor Hellwey, Leo, Marie and Albert. They lived in St. Louis, Mo.;
Mathilda Scarr, born in 1868, died May 24, 1941. She was married to William Scarr, Napoleon, and they had two children: Vernon and James Philmont;
Adolph, born November 27, 1870. (Date of death not known). He and his wife Gertrude had two children, Emerilus and David;
Pauline Tuttle, born August 29, 1873, died July 18, 1961. She was married to Fred Tuttle, Napoleon, and they had six children: Girard, Doris Stegner, Roger, Everette, Austin, Harry died in infancy. (Refer to Article on G. Fredrick Tuttle);
William born March 10, 1874, (Date of death not known). He was married to Gertrude Holsafle and their children were: Mildred Grush, Pauline Rogers, Treva Harmon, William, Adolph. Arla died in infancy. They lived in Ft. Wayne, Indiana;
Louise was born in 1876, date of death not known. (Unmarried).
Frederick, born January 17, 1878, and died December 15, 1939. He married Evaleana Myers and their children were: Doris Skillman, Pauline Lee, Frederick, Betty Louise Kennedy, Theodore, Harold, Rosalie, and Mary Frances. They lived in California;
Dorothey, born October 28, 1881, and died August 10, 1902.
Frederick Gehringer's parents were John George Gehringer, born October 15, 1788, died December 3, 1875, and Maria Katharina (Frasch) Gehringer, born September 14, 1801, and died January 9, 1865. They were both born in Weikersheim, Wurtenberg, Germany.
