Horatio Frazier — Born to Floyd and Frazier around 1838. He was one of a large family. He was from Pennsylvania and when about 20 years old moved to Perry Co., Ohio. Here he met and married Eva Kinder and they became parents of 2 boys Thomas and David. He acquired land and farmed until he entered service with an Ohio regiment with his brother Levi. While serving with this regiment and fighting to preserve the Union in the South, he became ill and died leaving his wifeand the two small boys, David, the youngest, being only a year old. At the same time his brother Levi also lost his life and both are buried in the South. He was a member of the United Brethren Church in Perry Co. and the Whig political party. He died in 1863 at the age of 25.
EVA KINDER FRAIZER DOTSON was born around 1840 to David and Elizabeth Kinder. She was one of a large family. About 1859 she met and married Horatio Frazier and 2 children were born Thomas and David. When David was a few months old, her husband entered service and died a short time later leaving her with the two boys. Her father and brother, Peter, also served with an Ohio regiment in the south. Later she married Lewis Dotson and they had 8 children: Charles, Daniel, Worley, John, Maggie, Stella, and 2 whose names are unknown. All her children either worked or were identified with the coal mining industry near Corning, Ohio, in Perry Co. She died in Aug., 1910, and is buried in Corning, Ohio.
DAVID FRAZIER — Born March 6, 1862, in Perry Co., Ohio, to Horatio and Eva Kinder Fraizer. He started to work at the very young age of 14 in a coal mine in Perry Co., Ohio, near Corning. Here he worked for 11 years until he was seriously injured in an accident in the mine and couldn't work for 18 months. When he recovered, he left home and came to Richfield Twp., in Henry Co., Ohio, where he met and married Nettie Winner on Nov. 27, 1887. They acquired 40 acres of land, cleared it to farm, and built a log cabin. Later he added a good house and barn. He sold this and bought 80 acres near Westhope and after making many improvements in 1908, he sold this and bought 80 acres in Damascus Twp., Henry Co., Ohio, where he remained until his death. He was very active in the community and held office of assessor, a trustee in Richfield Twp., and a member of the school board. David and Nettie Frazier became the parents of 6 girls: Ina Frazier Rausch, Rose Fraizer Mitchell, Gertrude Frazier Zellers, Gladys Frazier Browning, Lola Frazier Brown, and Mildred Frazier Rochte. He died Feb. 17, 1933, and is buried at McClure, Ohio.
NETTIE WINNER FRAIZER — Born Oct. 6, 1869, in Richfield Twp., Henry Co., Ohio, to Taylor and Sally Yarington Winner. Her parents were born and raised in Logan Co., Ohio, and after they married, they traveled over rough roads and trails to Richfield Twp., Henry Co., Ohio, where they acquired 80 acres of land in the woods, built a cabin, and cleared the land to farm. They were the parents of 6 girls: Nettie (being the oldest), Alta Winner Ballard, Nora Winner Nichols, Elsie Winner Struble, Jess Winner Crowell, and one girl died in infancy. Nettie married David Frazier on Nov. 27, 1887, and like her parents she and David had 6 girls. She and her husband retired from farming and moved to McClure where she continued to live after the death of her husband in 1933. She died at her home on June 11, 1935, and is buried beside her husband in McClure, Ohio.
INA FRAZIER RAUSCH — Born July 30, 1889, in a log cabin near Westhope, Ohio, to David and Nettie Winner Frazier. She was the oldest of 6 girls. Her family remained in the Westhope area until 1908. She started her education in the country school called the Sloan School on County Rd. 6 and graduated from Westhope High School in 1907. In 1908 her father purchased 80 acres in Damascus Twp., near McClure, Ohio, and she remained here in the country home with her family until her marriage to Carl Rausch on Oct. 20, 1912. One of her favorite stories she told her family was how homesick she got and what a short distance to McClure it was but it was an all day outing and took all day with horse and buggy so they couldn't make it very often. She was a home loving person and her family was her whole life. She lived to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 20, 1973. She died Feb. 9, 1974, and is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon, Ohio. Ina and Carl had 5 boys: RUSSELL — born June 15, 1913. He is married to Dorothy Ferguson and they have 4 children, Roger, Carol, Lynn and Wayne; BURDETTE — born July 25, 1915. He is married to Virginia Dangler; PAUL — born Jan. 29, 1920. He is married to Margaret James and they have 2 boys, Ronald and Thomas; JAMES — born Oct. 31, 1923. He is married to Emily Baughman and they have 4 children, Tondra, Diane, Patti, and David; LOWELL — born March 7, 1931. He is married to Marilyn Saneholtz and they have 4 children, Susan, Michael, Barbara, and Steven.
