Samuel F. Foreman was born about 1800 and is thought to be buried in the cemetery at Texas, Ohio. His father was a Revolutionary War soldier. (unproved)
His children were Samuel P., born 1842-1927, who married Virginia Jones, a daughter of John and Charity Karis Jones. James S. Foreman, 18531912, married Martha, 1856-1939. Letica Foreman married George Wagner and had Goldie, Grace, and George. William Foreman was a veterinarian at Weston, Ohio, and never married.
Samuel P. Foreman served in the Civil War in Co. G. 191st O.V.I. and later was a G.A.R. member. He and his wife are buried at Whitehouse, Ohio. Their children were: Benjamin married Ella Lynn; Samuel E. married Mamie; John A. married Jane Kane; George W. married Myrtle Lynn. Willie was born in 1878 and died in 1878. Charles was born in 1876 and died in 1879.
George Washington Foreman was born August 15, 1877, in Monclova, Ohio, and married Myrtle Irene Lynn, born June 11, 1887, in Whitehouse. He died October 29, 1941, and Myrtle died November 23, 1925. They are buried in Toledo Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio.
They had nine children: Ruth Lynn Foreman was born April 11, 1908, and married twice; Ruby Foreman was born November 27, 1909, and never married; Alonzo Foreman was born August 2, 1911, and married Alice Sibberson and had Gary who married Sandy Kessler, Alonzo, Jr., and Debbie; Samuel Foreman married Ruby Tucker, and had Donna Jean, Shirley
Ann, Samuel L., Betty and Ronald; Samuel married second Louise Foreman; George Foreman married Louise and had George, Joyce, Barbara, and Mary Lou, (he married Rose second and had one son Lynn); Harry Foreman married Margaret Boyd and had one daughter Bonnie; Ervin Foreman married twice (Patricia was born to the first marriage. Ervin married Mildred Poucher and they adopted Robert); Virginia Foreman married Bill Turner and their history is under the name Turner in this book; Genevieve married Wayne Eicher and their history is under Eicher in the book.
Of these children Alonzo lives in Liberty Center. Harry lives in Texas, Ohio. Samuel has a summer place in Texas, Ohio. Virginia was raised in Florida, Ohio, and Genevieve was adopted and raised at Ridgeville, and now lives in Napoleon.
John Foreman married Jane Kane and their children were: Nellie Jeanette who married Floyd Guyer of Colton area; Evelyn married Clair Hoffman; Thomas; Gladys married Lloyd Kern; Minnie married Roy Taylor. Some of their descendants are residents of Henry County in 1975.
The maternal and paternal ancestors of the George Washington and Myrtle Lynn Foreman children were the Lynn, Murphy, Stevens, and Nye, and Jones families. John Stevens was one of the first blacksmiths in Grand Rapids area. The Murphys came in with the Miami and Erie Canal. The Nyes, and Lynns came in on the same covered wagon train from Pennsylvania. They crossed at the Otsego Ford of the Maumee River, expecting to go on to Michigan or Wisconsin. However, a wheel came off one of the wagons and a horse died and they stopped and settled in Providence Township of Lucas County.
