Herman Eitzman

Herman Eitzman was born in Hanover, Germany on Sept. 6, 1830, Catherina Benien his wife was born April 23, 1839. Two children were born to them while in Germany, Heinrich (Henry) born Oct. 24, 1865 and Anna born Jan. 1, 1870. About 1871 Herman then brOught his family to the United States, settling in Henry Co. north of Holgate, in Flatrock Twp. After coming to Henry Co. three more children were born, Wilhelm (Bill) born Oct. 22, 1876 and died Dec. 26, 1929, Maria K. born March 18, 1879 and died Aug. 27, 1896, Minna M. born Jan. 23, 1883 and died Jan. 15, 1902. Anna died March 23, 1894.

Herman and family were members of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Holgate. Herman died Sept. 22, 1903 and Catherina June 6, 1906. They are both buried in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery south of Holgate.
