Solomon was the son of Andrew and Catharine Eisamon and was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in 1827.
He married Eliza E. Glick, born Pickaway County, Ohio, 1832, in Columbus, Ohio in 1861.
They came to Henry County, Monroe Township in 1861.
Solomon Eisaman was remembered as saying that when he came the township was a wilderness and the road to Napoleon had just been cut. But it wasn't much help for it was generally covered with water the year around.
It took him twelve years, working by himself, to cut and clear fifty acres of land.
Solomon and Eliza had five children, one died as an infant; the others were Ada Melissa and Ida Elizabeth, twins; Jerome S. and Noah Sylvester.
Submitted by the Henry County Historical Society, and not by the family.
