John Edwards Family

John Edwards, son of Samuel and Catharine Clark Edwards, was named for his uncle, John Edwards who lived in Wayne County, Ohio.

John Edwards, son of Samuel, married in Perry County, Ohio, and moved in 1850 to Harrison Township, Henry County, Ohio. He and his wife, Elizabeth, both died there.

Their daughter, Catharine, was born in 1844/45 in Hancock County, Ohio. She married John W. Eckman in June, 1863. John was born in Seneca County, Ohio a son of George and Margaret Eckman, formerly of Pennsylvania, in November, 1843.

John and Catharine Eckman's daughter, Rosalie was born in 1864, William D. was born in 1868, and George was born in 1871.

John Eckman served during the Civil War in the 8th Michigan Volunteer Infantry.
