John Harmon Eding and Gerhart Jared Eding, sons of Paul Eding, moved with their father into Pleasant Township Henry County somewhere between 1837 and 1844.
John Harmon Eding (born Nov. 22, 1825 and died April 13, 1893) and his wife Margaret P. (Witterall) Eding (born August 15, 1825 and died Dec. 23, 1912) were blessed with twelve children — Margaret E., Henry H., Cyrus A., George F., Anna P., Caroline M., Samuel G., Abraham L., Charley W., Elisabeth E., Ardenia A., and John A. Harmon and Margaret were members of the Methodist Church. He was a farmer all his life. Harmon was also an itinerant preacher of the Methodist faith.
John A. Eding, the youngest son of John Harmon and Margaret P. Eding, was born Sept. 17, 1872. He married Mary Magdalena (Lena) Seifert, a daughter of Wendle and Margaret Seifert, from Henry Co. John A. and Lena Eding had four daughters — Nettie, Leona, Anna, and Luella. Nettie married Homer Lesh of Henry County. Nettie and Homer have one daughter, Dorothy, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Nettie and Homer live near Grand Rapids, Ohio. Leona married Elmer Hoellrick of Henry Co. They have four sons — Lester, Melvin, Arthur, and Lowell — and two daughters — Shirley and Margie. Leona and Elmer also have 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Leona and Elmer live near Stanley, Ohio. Anna, the third daughter of John A. and Lena Eding, died of Tuberculosis at the age of 21. Luella, the yoUngest daughter, married Paul Dunbar. They have two daughters — Mary Anne and Gail — and five grandchildren. Luella and Paul live at Winona Lake, Indiana.
