Daniel H. Dunlap, son of James and Sarah M. Dunlap (nee) Cole, was born January 26, 1861, at Delaware, Ohio. He married Minerva C. Harris of Delaware October 28, 1880, in which both joined the Delaware Baptist Church there. Two years later they moved to Paulding County where they became members of the Prairie Creek Regular Baptist Church, Paulding County. This church was organized June 19, 1886, on a plot of ground donated by Daniel's mother. There were three children born to this union: Clyde L. Dunlap, Adah Dunlap, and Clarance who died in infancy. Mrs. Dunlap died on July 7, 1896.
Mr. Dunlap married Carrie M. O'Brien December 27, 1904. They had eight children: 1. Florence, born 1905 married Carl J. Main and lives in Cleveland. 2. Chester lives in California. 3. Howard lives in Adrian, Michigan. 4. Mae married Lawrence Stienbrook (who is deceased) and she lives in Columbus, Ohio. 5. Dorance lives in Adrian, Michigan. 6. Helen married Eugene Robinson, Wauseon, Ohio (she is now deceased). 7. Grace married Norman Rothenberger and they now live in Holgate, Ohio. 8. Virginia lives in California (she is not married).
Daniel H. Dunlap died July 28, 1923, at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 2 days in Napoleon, Ohio.
Grace Dunlap married Norman Charles Rothenberger June 20, 1937, in the St. Paul Parish Home by the Rev. F. G. Lankenau. To this union 6 children were born: 1. Carolyn Grace Rothenberger Schudel, 5 children. 2 Karen Lee Rothenberger Crawford, 4 children. 3. Norman Dean Rothenberger, 6 children. 4. Bonnie Jean Rothenberger Phillips, 1 child. 5. Joyce Ann Karr, 3 children. 6. David Daniel Rothenberger, at home.
Norman and Grace owned the Royal Cleaners in Napoleon, Ohio, on 905 North Berry from 1945 to 1963; then they moved to 322 Kaufman Street, Holgate, Ohio where they operated the Royal Cleaners and Holgate Coin Laundry on Kaufman Street until 1974. It is now the Village Chopper owned by their son Norman Dean Rothenberger.
