His first marriage was to Catharine Rodemuth who died as a young woman in Defiance County, Ohio. Frederick and Catharine came to America, to Defiance County, in 1849.
The issue from Frederick's first marriage was Frederick Dannenberg, Jr. Fred, Jr. married and had a son and a daughter.
Frederick, Sr. married Dorothy Guhl on July 27, 1857 in Defiance County. Dorothy was born in Hanover, Germany on April 17, 1836 and came to America in 1854. She died on January 30, 1912.
Frederick's issue from the second marriage was a daughter, Minnie Dannenberg who was born on March 5, 1867 in Defiance County. Minnie married John A. Mehring and died in childbirth in April, 1892. John and Minnie had a son, Richard A. Mehring. Minnie and John were married in April, 1890.
After Minnie's death, John married as his second wife, Mary Dannenberg, sister of his first wife, and daughter of Frederick and Dorothy Guhl Dannenberg.
Mary Dannenberg Mehring was born on March 25, 1863 in Defiance County and married John Mehring in 1893. John was born in 1852 and died in 1937.
Issue of John and Mary Mehring was Otto Mehring who married Anna Zenz and had a son, Delbert Mehring who was born on March 12, 1911.
Others in the Dannenberg family were Louisa who married Harmon Bargman; and William Dannenberg, Smith County, Kansas who married Anna Tietjens, daughter of William and Christina Wiechman Tietjens, at Napoleon, Ohio. Anna's brother, Henry Tietjens, also went to Smith County, Kansas to live.
