William F. Daggett was the son of Smith and Sarah Godfrey Daggett. He was born in Lucas County, Ohio in 1830. He married, in Washington Township, Henry County, Alvira L. Scribner, on December 25, 1855. Alvira was born in Washington Township on January 21, 1833 and was a daughter of Edwin and Lucy Scribner who settled in Henry County in 1828.
Smith Daggett was born in 1792 at New Haven, Connecticut, and died in Lucas County in 1840. Sarah Godfrey Daggett was born in 1795 at Che nango, New York, and died in 1840 in Lucas County. They settled in Lucas County in 1822.
William and Alvira Daggett had Ella M., Edwin S., Minnie F., William F., Nellie A., Frank W., Edward F., and Arthur Daggett.
They came to Napoleon in 1852. William was county recorder from 1863 until 1869. He was elected auditor in 1874.
