Alexander Craig was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, on May 22, 1801 and was the son of Alexander and Martha Craig.
He married Susan Neeley at Millersburg, Holmes County, Pennsylvania in 1827. She was born in Adams County, Pennsylvania on December 22, 1800.
Alexander and Susan Craig had four children: Sarah M., Alfred H., Martha J. married John Meekison, and Elizabeth A. married Henry Yager.
Alexander's brother, Eleazer Craig, lived in the South and fought for the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He died somewhere in the South after the war was over.
Alexander Craig was sheriff of the county two terms, county recorder for two terms and served as associate judge for Henry County. He was a farmer, and an early settler in Henry County.
