Hannah Cooper was born in Dorchester, Old England, on Dec. 26, 1847 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. P. E. Diery at Liberty Center Ohio on Oct. 10, 1930 at the age of 83 years and 9 months.
In the year of 1871 she came to this country, with her husband William Cooper and in 1875 settled in Holgate where she has resided ever since. She was the mother of ten children, 6 of whom are still living, namely, Mrs. George Myers, Mrs. Jessie Bordner, Mrs. J. D. Meinen, Albert and Walter Cooper, all of Holgate, and Mrs. P. E. Diery of Liberty Center. Her husband and four children preceded her in death.
There are 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was a good mother and suffered many hardships in the early years of our country. For many years she was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was faithful in attendance as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. George (Jennifer) Myers had one child, Mrs. Joseph (Mildred) Steele of 3080 119th St., Toledo, Ohio 43611; Mrs. Jessie Bordner (Fannie) had two children, Burdette and Bernice. Bernice married Virgil G. Fritsch of Holgate, Ohio; Albert had six children, Mabel (Mrs. James W. MacGregor of Portage, Wis.), Marvelle married Neff T. Dietrich, 8791 West Outer Dr., Detroit, Mich., Harold married Luella Armbruster, they live near Holgate. Luella died in 1971. Paul Dallas married Donnie Bayliss, they live in Holgate on the site of the old Cooper homestead. Cornelius married Doloras Critchett; he passed away in Jan., 1969, Eugene married Ivy Knifke; he died in 1971.
