Silas Jewell (Bub) Christman Family

Silas J. Christman was born on October 27, 1893 at Hamler, Henry County, Ohio. He married Alma Meyer on May 16, 1918. Alma was born on March 28, 1898. They were the parents of seven children: Edward, Wayne, Herbert, Dalton, Clayton, Betty and William.

Edward Christman, the first child, was born on October 17, 1920 at Deshler, Ohio, and married on September 18, 1945 to Zelma (Peggy) Muzette Huff who was born on June 24, 1925 at Kannapolis, North Carolina. Two childreri were born to them. Joan Christman was born on December 22, 1952 at Charlotte, North Carolina. She mar ried Paul Strausbaugh on March 1, 1975. Paul was born on April 21, 1953 in Potter County, Texas. Nancy A. Christman was born on October 19, 1954 at Charlotte, North Carolina. She was married on June 26, 1976 to Dane M. Erford who was born on November 4, 1953 at Defiance, Ohio.

The second child born to Silas and Alma Christman was Wayne who was born on January 10, 1924 and married at Deshler, Ohio, on January 24, 1947 to Virginia L. Farquharson. Virginia was born on November 21, 1926. They have three children. Linda L. was born on August 23, 1948. Wayne J. Christman, Jr. was born on September 12, 1952. Ralph S. Christman was born on March 26, 1956. Linda married Roger Parker, lives in Deshler, and has two children. Andrea Parker was born on March 2, 1970, and Brian Parker was born on June 19, 1974. Ralph Christman married Julia Seals who was born on January 27, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were married in August, 1977.

Herbert Christman, the third child, was born on September 15, 1925 in Deshler and married on October 7, 1949 to Carolyn Margaret Cole who was born on June 8, 1927 at Rossford, Ohio. Herbert died of a heart attack on November 23, 1972. They were the parents of eight children. Jack Silas Christman was born on September 18, 1950 and married Susan K. Studer on August 12, 1950. Susan was from Lima, Allen County, Ohio. They have one child, Gwen Rose, born on March 25, 1976 at Lima. Tom Glenn Christman was born on December 21, 1951 at Lima and married on November 10, 1973 to Patricia S. Ellerbrock who was born on February 20, 1951 at Lima. They have one child, Matthew Russell, born on October 24, 1976 at Lima. Cynthia Kaye Chirstman was born on May 22, 1954 and married to Martin Vincent Friess on December 14, 1974. Martin was born on June 25, 1954 at Wauseon, Ohio. Herbert Lloyd Christman was born on May 31, 1955 at Lima, and married Jackie Marie Smith on December 14, 1973. Jackie was born on February 27, 1955. Their two children were born at Bowling Green, Ohio. Erie Marie was born on June 29, 1974 and Lauren Jeanette was born on May 11, 1976.

Ronald Daniel and Donald James Christman, twins, were born May 7, 1959 at Leipsic, Ohio. Jeanne Arden and Jayne Adair Christman, twins, were born on October 3, 1961, at Lima.

Dalton Christman, the fourth child, was born on July 9, 1927, at Deshler. He married Reva McMaster on August 17, 1947, at Dshler. Reva was born on December 12, 1927 at Deshler. Their children are Jerry, Mark, and Jan. Jerry Christman was born on May 21, 1948 at Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio, and married on June 1, 1975 to Judy Harding who was born on March 18, 1951. Mark Christman was born on December 7, 1951 at Findlay, and married on December 13, 1975 to Dawn Hogan of Chardon, Ohio. Dawn was born on October 5, 1951. Their one child, Shannon Christman, was born on January 25, 1977 at Bowling Green, Ohio. Jan Christman was born on November 29, 1955 at Bowling Green, Ohio.

The fifth child, Clayton Gail Christman, was born on April 4, 1930 and married Ruth Eleanor Diamond on February 21, 1959. Ruth was born on August 23, 1936 at Defiance, Ohio. Their children are Jeffrey Clayton, born May 28, 1961 at Bowling Green, Ohio. Kellie Sue was born on July 10, 1963 at Bowling Green.

Betty Christman, the sixth child, was born on November 10, 1933 at Deshler, Ohio. She married John Eubel who was born on October 25, 1935. Children born to them were Lori, born on January 27, 1962, at Bowling Green, and Ron born May 23, 1960 at Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio.

The seventh child, William Christman, was born on August 8, 1936 at Deshler and married on January 11, 1957 to Patricial Bauchanan of Leipsic, Putnam County, Ohio. Pat was born on February 25, 1937. Their children are William, Jr. who was born on September 27, 1961 at Findlay; Julie born December 15, 1965 at Findlay and Joseph born November 7, 1969 at Bowling Green, Ohio.

Some of the Christman sons are in the Christman Building at Deshler, Ohio. The others are in the lumber company at Leipsic, Ohio.
