Harold J. Burditt was the son of James A.G. and Flora Gehardt Burditt and had brothers, Grover, Raymond and Glenn. Harold married Dorothy Clark.
Harold worked at Rossford Ordinance and the Lima Tank Depot during the war. He later drove a hay truck, worked for Nelson's in McClure, as an auto mechanic for Earl Hosman Garage in McClure; and as a lineman for the McClure Telephone Company. He drove a truck for Fredericks and at one time Harold and his oldest son, Bill, ran a roller skating rink in McClure.
He joined the McClure Fire Department in 1951 and in 1955 was elected Fire Chief. He served twenty-one years as a devoted fireman. He served two years on the McClure town council. Harold was a charter member of the McClure Emergency Medical Service. He died on December 25, 1976.
Harold Burditt and Dorothy Clark Burditt had two sons: Arthur (Bill) Burditt and Robert Burditt.
Dorothy worked twenty-one years for the McClure Telephone Company as an operator and retired in 1975 when the company went to the touch tone and no longer needed operators.
Arthur Burditt married Barbara Rhoads and they have two sons: James and Roger. Arthur works as a set-up man for the Chevrolet Transmission Plant in Toledo, Ohio. He has been a Cub Scoutmaster and involved with scouting activities for twelve years. He started a scout troop for the mentally retarded of Henry County. Both Arthur and his wife are charter members of the McClure E.M.S.
Robert Burditt married Karen Boulis and their children are Daniel, Dana, and Jennifer. He works for the United Telephone System in Napoleon, Ohio. His wife, Karen, also worked as a telephone operator at the Napoleon office until birth of their first son, Daniel. Arthur is a member of the Napoleon Fire Department.
