William and Elizabeth Brubaker had ten children: William, Arthur, Perry, Carl, Ora, Lolly, Jenny, Nelly, Ida, and George.
George Brubaker married Julia Ann Casey. After his marriage George became a Catholic and member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hamler. George and Julia Ann had five children: Owen, Dorothy, May, Raymond, and William. Julia's parents, William Casey and Anne Burray, married and lived in County Two Mountain, Quebec, Canada. William Casey came to Ohio to work in the woods. Anne and the six children came later by train around 1873.
William Brubaker, son of George and Julia Ann, was born August 14, 1890, on a farm northeast of Florida, Ohio. Later the family moved to a farmnortheast of Hamler. William served during World War I in France as a medic. After service William married Anna Heigel on November 27, 1919. William and Anna lived and farmed one-half mile east of his father's place. They raised five children: Angela, Melvin, Joe, Eugene, and Francis. After William's retirement, he and Anna moved to Ottawa, Ohio. William died in November, 1968. Anna's mother, Mary Beuchert, born in Baden, Germany, came and settled in Springfield, Ohio, at the age of sixteen. Later Mary Beuchart met and married Charles Heigel, a native of Alsace-Lorraine, France. They had seven children: Freida, Catherine, Clara, Charles, Mary, Joe, and Anna.
Joseph Brubaker, son of William and Anna, married Mildred M. Schroeder on May 26, 1948. Mildred was one of eight children of Frank and Theresa Winkler Schroeder who lived on a farm north of Leipsic. Joseph attended the one room Porcupine School at County Roads F and 8 for eight years and high school at Hamler. Joseph entered the army in 1944 and served in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan. After service he married and began farming southeast of Hamler. Joseph and Mildred had five children: Kenneth, Barbara, Daniel, Patricia, and Linda. Kenneth married Carol L. Cagle born in Afrigola, Italy; they had two children, Jeremy and Kimberly. Patricia married Henry W. Godeke from Deshler, Ohio; they had two children, Kelly and Karri. Daniel married Christine Novak from Homer City, Pennsylvania. They have one daughter, Stephanie.
