Samuel and Elizabeth Hunter Bowers

Elizabeth Hunter was born in mid-ocean in 1805 while her parents were coming from Ireland. They settled in the Florida area of Henry County after the close of the War of 1812, it is thought about 1819.

Samuel Bowers, husband of Elizabeth, came to the county about 1820. He had been a soldier in the War of 1812.

Samuel Bowers served as the first sheriff of Henry County.
