Mildred 'Millie' Powell, 91, of Deshler died Thursday at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler.
Born April 8, 1915, she was the daughter of Roy D. and Esme C. (Rayle) Rutter. On Dec. 26, 1941, she married Dewey Powell, who preceded her in death on May 31,1990.
She was a sales lady for the Wil-Knit Hosiery Co. during the 1960s. She was a member of Deshler United Methodist Church and Bartlow Township Historical Society and participated in many off-broadway productions, choirs and plays.
She is survived by two sons, James (Marjorie) of Batesville, Ind., and Stephen (Mary) of Miller City; a daughter, Beth Powell of Deshler; two sisters, Eileen (Wayne) Phillips of Deshler and Lynne (Robert) Line of Elida; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Myers; and five brothers, Herbert, Clifford Edward, Robert, Paul “Porky” and Donald “Buzz” Rutter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Deshler United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday and, l-8 p.m. Monday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Deshler United Methodist Church, Deshler EMS or a charity of the donor’s choice.
