Maynard E. Rufenacht, 83, of Archbold died Saturday at his residence.
Born Oct. 1, 1922, near Archbold, he was the son of Elias and Louisa (Aschliman) Rufenacht. On Feb. 27,1946 he married Elverda Nofziger, who preceded him in death June 16, 1954. On Nov. 20, 1955, he married Bernice Nofziger, who survives.
A farmer, he was inducted into the Fulton County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1991. For 15 years, he and his wife volunteered through SOOP of the Mennonite Mission Network in Tucson, Ariz., during the winter months. He was also a Volunteer at Care & Share in Archbold, a member of West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville, a member of the Fulton County Dairy Association and a board member of the Farm Credit Service Association.
He is also survived by a daughter, Jean Hartzler of Goshen, Ind.; four sons, Jim (Linda) and Corwin (Peg), both of Archbold, and Terry (Terri) and Lonnie (Barb), both of Wauseon; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Reo and Olen.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Clinton Mennonite Church, Pastor James Roynon and Pastor Rick Stoner officiating. Interment will precede at Pettisville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. . Tuesday at the church fellowship hall.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Foods Resource Bank or a charity of the family's choice.Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of arrangements.
