Marvin B. Fahringer, 83, of Napoleon died Tueday at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.
Born Oct. 5, 1923, in Napoleon, he was the son of Cyrus and Almeda (Hite) Fahringer. On June 2, 1946, he married Laurina Rauch, who preceded him in death May 1, 2002. He then married Louise Miller on Sept. 13, 2003, and she survives.
A life-long farmer, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon and was a life member of the Napoleon Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post #300 and the Napoleon Luther Kolbe V.F.W. Post #2818.
He is also survived by four daughters, Marva and Joyce Fahringer, both of Napoleon, Linda (Jim) Gallaher of Bryan and Brenda (Mark) Cole of Birmingham, Ala.; a son, Toby (Kim) Fahringer of West Falmouth, Mass.; three step daughters, Peggy (Joe) Szozda of Napoleon, Cindy (Alan) Fritz of Defiance and Teresa (Roger) Miller of Archbold; five grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a step great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Homer and Donald.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. Peter C. Marcis and Rev. Charles E. Kramer officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Memory Gardens in rural Defiance and military honors will be accorded by the Joint Veterans Posts of Napoleon.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, where an American Legion memorial service will be held, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Henry County Senior Center.
