Cloyce C. Zernhel, 66, of 112 S. Vine St., died Tuesday morning at his residence. Death followed an illness of six years.
Mr. Zernhel was born Jan 16, 1898 in Deshler, a son of Enos and Rosa (Goodfriend) Zernhel. A lifetime resident of Deshler, he married Velma (Herman) Zernhel on December 6, 1918. She preceded him in death on October 31, 1960.
Surviving are two sons, John and Dan, both of Hoytville; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Zeltner of Cygnet and Mrs Jo Ann Abbott of Deshler; a sister, Mrs. Rose Richmond of Weston; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Zernhel worked 42 years as an American Railway Express messenger prior to his retirement.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church in Deshler, the Deshler IOOF Lodge 617, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p. m. Wednesday.
