Marvel Brink, 72, Defiance died Oct. 3 in her home. Born in Highland Township on aug. 8, 1915, she was the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Porter) Zachrich. She married Charles (Chad) Brink in 1933, and he survives. Also surviving are three sons, Burdett of Holgate, Dennis of Liberty Center, and Fred of Toledo; a daughter, Ann Brink of Defiance; one sister, Leola Little of Sylvania; and four half-brothers, Donald Zachrich of Coldwater, Mich., Paul Zachrich of Deshler, James Zachrich of Holgate, and Jerry Zachrich of Hamler; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her stepmother, Delene Zachrich and three half-sisters, Arlene and Wava Zachrich and Donis Sarka. Mrs. Brink was a member of Pleasant Bend United Methodist Women's Society. She was a former resident of Holgate, having move to Defiance in 1984. She had been in failing health for the past seven years. Services were held in the Mast and Mock Funeral Home in Defiance with the Rev. Thomas Wetzler officiating. Burial was at Ayersville Cemetery.
