Obituary: Mr. Homer L. Young, 84, passed away on July 3 in the Kendalville Hospital, Kendalville, Indiana. He was a resident of the Lutheran Home of that city. He was born June 23, 1896, to James L. and Emma (Deal) Young who resided north of Deshler in the early 1900s, later moving to Albion, Indiana. He was a World War I veteran and later worked with Mr. Heckerman, a photographer in Deshler. He resided with his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Ollie Young) Thomas. Most of his life was spent in Toledo and Indiana in the insurance business. He married Jessie Hostler, who died. He later married Esther Borge who also preceded him in death. Surviving is a brother, James L. of Chicago; a niece, Mrs. Cliff Freeman of Deshler; plus other nieces and nephews. Services were held July 6 in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendalville, Indiana, with Rev. Alfred P. Beale officiating. Interment was in Orange Cemetery.
