William H. Young, 89, of Deshler, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in his residence after an illness of four months. He was a former village marshal in Deshler.

Born May 1, 1871, in Logan County, he was the son of Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Shultz) Young.

Surviving are his wife, Maude; daughter, Mrs. Andy Barbier, Lima; sons Arthur, New Castle, Pa., and Boyd, Ft. Wayne; step-daughters, Mrs. Noble Stevenson and Mrs. Goe Gibson, both of Deshler; a step-son, Gehrett Tussinger, Deshler; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A retired dray line owner, Mr. Young was a member of the Macabee Lodge.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday in the Dubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. Emerson Iles and the Rev. T. E. Donough will officiate with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
