Funeral services for Ferrae E. Longbrake, 86, a resident of Oak Grove Manor Nursing home in Deshler, were held Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Deshler with the Rev. Richard Kasunic officiating. Burial was in McComb Union Cemetery. Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Longbrake died April 4 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She had been in failing health since July. She was born June 17, 1900 in Deshler to William and Lulu (McCanny) Ward. She married Lloyd Longbrake on July 18, 1923 and he died July 24, 1951. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Judee) Suber of Deshler; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clarice Miller of Deshler. Mrs. Longbrake was the first director of the Pirate's Inn Teen Center, Deshler, from 1957-59. For three years she was a housemother at Sigma Nu Fraternity, Bowling Green State University. She was also a housemother for three years at Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, Toledo University. She served several terms on the Deshler school board. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Deshler, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Deshler, and had served as a Sunday school teacher and as junior choir director there.
