Fred R. Wise, 87, of 14291 Mitchell Rd., Bowling Green, died in his home. A retired farmer, he attended Portage Mount Zion Church, was a veteran of World War I, life member of Norcross-Myers American Legion Post, Custar, and the World War I Barracks, Bowling Green. Born Oct. 12, 1893, in Perrysburg to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wise (Carrie Schaller), he married Alice Kirkendall April 21, 1928, in Fostoria. She died July 30. Surviving are three sons, Charles Eugene of Tontogany; Jerry K. of Wauseon; Ray M. Wise of McClure; three daughters, Mrs. Norma Wagner of Wauseon; Mrs. Doris Strow of Custar; Mrs. Ruth Garrett of Haskins; a stepson, 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death. The funeral was in Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home with Rev. Leslie Bell officiating Burial was in Weston Cemetery.
