Oscar A. Opsomer, 79, Hubbard Street, died at 7 a.m. Sunday in his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Tourcoing, France, the son of Adolf and Mary (Vershere) Opsomer. On July 6, 1940, he married Alice Schippers, who survives. He retired in 1974 from Patrick Henry Local Schools. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter, Joanne Orosz of Columbus; three sons, Oscar (Pete) Jr., of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mike of Bowling Green and Skip of Corona Del Mar, Calif; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Rev. Robert Kill officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
