Besides the two deaths, that of Earl Thrapp, 45, driver, and Ruth Anderson, 12, who were killed instanly last Friday when a wagon hauling children to school was struck by a Clover Leaf train at McClure, none others have occurred, although three of the victims are in a critical condition with death expected momentarily.
Latest reports say that Lillian Anderson, 9, skull fractured, was removed to a Lima hospital and her recovery is doubtful. The recovery of Arthur Anderson, both arms broken and had a bad scalp wound, is still in question. Hazel Rausch, back broken, was taken to a Lima hospital Saturday.
The rest of the victims of the accident are recovering from slight bruises and scratched.
It is thought that heavy fog, which prevented the driver from seeing the approaching train (which was behind schedule and confused him, as he thought the train had passed) was responsible for this accident.
