MARY R. SHOTWELL
Mary Rose Shotwell, 65, of 616 W. Main St., Deshler, died Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10:15 a.m. In St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
She was bom Aug. 10, 1926 in Isaban, West Virginia to Herman and Isoline (Knipp) Smith. She married Charles E. Thompson in 1945 and he died in 1960. She then married the Rev. James D. Shotwell Sr. on Nov. 4, 1961, and he survives.
Mrs. Shotwell was a homemaker and a dollmaker. She had also been an insurance office manager. She was a 1944 graduate of East Bank High School In W. Va. She was a member of Deshler Presbyterian Church, its Presbyterian Women and the Aladdin Club, Deshler.
Also surviving are four sons, Herman Shotwell, Fleming; Edmund Shotwell, Delta; Charles Shotwell and James D. Shotwell, both of Deshler: two daughters, Mrs. Morris (Tanya) Rohdy, Marietta; Mrs. Charles (Ellareain) Wagner, Jacksonville, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a brother, James H. Smith.
Visitation was held Monday at Snyder-Bloor Funeral Home, Deshler; one hour before the service at the church, and Tuesday at Hadley Funeral Home, Marietta.
Services for Mrs. Shotwell were held on Monday at Deshler Presbyterian Church, the Revs. George Bell and Bruce Tischler officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barlow Central Cemetery In Washington County.
Memorials may be made either to a church of the donor's choice or to Gideons International.
