Thelma A. Straley, 78, of Deshler, died on March 19 at Oak Grove Quality Care Nursing Center. She was born Dec. 30, 1911 in Salisbury, NC to Grant and Carrie Wyrick. She married Harold Straley on Nov. 14, 1931 and he died Jan. 18, 1980. Surviving are two sons, Grant J. and Daniel both of Deshler; two daughters, Patricia Straley of Lafayette, LA and Mrs. Robert (Mayver) Hogrefe of Deshler; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Straley was a homemaker. She was a member of Deshler First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held on March 21 at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. James Shotwell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
