Mable L. Shearer, 82, Findlay, died Wednesday morning in Blanchard Valley Hospital there.
Born in Deshler on Dec. 7, 1905, she was the daughter of David and Hester (Camomile) Brown. In 1921, she married William Shearer, and he preceded her in death in 1959.
Shearer had been a past employee of the former Press-Steel Co., Fostoria. She was a former member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, North Baltimore, where she was a Sunday school teacher for several years, and was a current member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Findlay.
Surviving are four daughters, Esther Shively of Mesa, Ariz., Evelyn Chapman of Colorado Springs, Helen Konczal of Findlay and Norma Kinder of Marion, Ohio; a brother, Wilder Brown of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Marie Shearer.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, North Baltimore, Rev. A. Richard Teller officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Friends may call at the Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and after 2 p.m. Friday.
In Mable (Brown) Shearer's obituary, the date of marriage is given as 1921; in William Sherer's obituary, the date is March 14, 1919. The 1919 date is believed to be correct, as is the spelling of the last name 'Sherer.'
