Carmen F. Stephens, 71, of rural McClure, died Jan. 29 at Henry County Hospital in Napoleon. She had been in failing health for six years. She was born July 20, 1915, in Richfield Township to Albert and Lizze (Beavers) Spangler. She married Wayne Stephens on Nov. 26, 1936, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bert of McClure and David of Malinta; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Pauline) Dachenhaus of Bowling Green, and Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Wright of Defiance; 12 grandchildren and a brother, Richard Garner of Napoleon. Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker. She was a member of Westhope Bible Church of Westhope. Funeral services were Feb. 1 at Westhope Bible Church with the Rev. William Wicke officiating. Burial was in Richfield Township Cemetery. Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure was in charge of arrangements.
